Six teams from the Divisional Emergency Operations Center in Labasa will be leaving for Taveuni today to carry out Detailed Damage Assessments (DDA) on the island.

Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea says the team that went to Taveuni yesterday conducted some general surveillance on the damage sustained.

Vocea says according to the report received from the team, the damage sustained to the island is large.

He says they will ascertain this when the DDA team gets to Taveuni.

Vocea says they will be able to know the full extent of the damage and the amount of assistance needed in Taveuni by the end of this week.
