A jealous husband will now have to spend almost 4 years behind bars after the Labasa High Court convicted him of arson.

48-year-old Senikiti Nadua of Nakama Macuata set fire to a house in his settlement in retaliation of his wife’s affair.

In his caution interview with the police, Nadua confessed that he set fire to Sasanei Lia’s house because her husband was having an affair with his wife.

Judge Justice Salesi Temo while sentencing Nadua said a lot of effort and financial resources is put to build a home and the complainant is married with 6 children.

Judge Temo says use of violence to settle domestic dispute is not acceptable.
