The couple was separated, however the victim, Maimum Nisha was in contact with her husband’s family.
On the day of the alleged offense, the victim travelled from Nadi to Ba to meet her in-laws.
The accused said he went to sit under a mango tree after the stabbing incident and was worried about what had happened.
While sitting there, Yasin said he saw neighbors taking his wife to the hospital.
He informed the court he was full of remorse.
He said within few hours Police arrived at his sister’s place.
He claimed that he says he was dragged by the officers to the Police vehicle.
