Hundreds of people gathered at the Centenary Church in Suva today to pay their last respect to the late Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni.
Government Ministers, Members of Parliament, close family and friends attended the funeral service.
While giving the government’s eulogy, Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate says Dr Luveni’s life portrays a true patriotic servant of Fiji.
Usamate says Dr Luveni has shown women across the country that anything is possible if the heart is willing.
The youngest of the late Speaker’s seven children, Fatafehi Luveni says her mother’s hard work is a testament to the family’s success.
Dr Luveni will be laid to rest at the Lovonilase cemetery.
