Heavy rain warning remains

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, the Eastern and Southern Parts of Viti Levu.

This has been attributed to low pressure which continues to affect the Northern and Eastern Parts of the Group.

What to expect, the forecast for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group, the Eastern and Southern Parts of Viti Levu, occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Rain is expected to gradually ease to showers from tomorrow.

For the rest of Fiji, cloudy periods with some showers are predicted.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji group.

The Nadi Meteorological Services says a trough of low pressure to the West of Fiji continues to gradually move near the group.

Meanwhile, another trough affects Vanua Levu and is drifting towards the group.

Associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the group until Friday.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Fiji.

The Nadi Meteorological Services says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji and is gradually intensifying.

It is expected to affect the group until early next week.

For Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Vanua Levu and nearby smaller islands, periods of heavy rain and squally thunderstorms has been forecast.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flooding of low lying areas.

Similar forecast has been made for the rest of the Fiji group.

Meanwhile a flood warning remains in force for low lying areas, small streams and areas downstream of Vatukacevaceva station to Rakiraki town.

A flood alert remains in force for all low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to major rivers for the whole of Fiji.

Heavy rain warning remains

Tropical Depression 08F is expected to continue moving northeastwards away from Fiji.

Fiji Metrological Services says TDO8F was situated 105km Northeast of Udu point or about 165 km North-Northwest of Taveuni at 12am today.

Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure affects the Southern and Eastern parts of the group.

For Southern parts of Vanua Levu, Southern parts of Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands expect occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Southern parts of Vanua Levu, Southern parts of Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

The flood alert that was previously in force for the downstream of Waimanu station, downstream of Emuri station to Semo village is now cancelled.

A flood alert remains in force for low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to Dreketilailai station, and low-lying areas and small streams adjacent to major rivers for southern parts of Vanua Levu and Southern parts of Viti Levu.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for whole of Fiji.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the Fiji group.
It is expected to affect the group till later tomorrow.

For whole of Fiji periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, a flood warning still remains inforce for:

1. Low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to the downstream of vatukacevaceva station down to Rakiraki town.

2. Low lying areas, small streams and areas downstream of toge station to Ba town and areas downstream of navolau station.

3. Low lying areas and small streams adjacent to the downstream of keiyasi station.

4. Low lying areas and small streams adjacent to the downstream of Nairukuruku station.

5. Low lying areas and small streams adjacent to the downstream of Nasivi station.

Levels at vatukacevaceva station was 0.98m at 4am which is 0.52m below warning level and decreasing and at toge station it was 3.56m which is 0.04m below alert level and decreasing.

Level at Ba FSC mill was 4.34m which is 0.84m above warning level and decreasing and at keiyasi stations was 3.36 at 4.00am which is 0.64m below alert level and decreasing.

Nairukuruku stations was 4.01m at which is 0.01m above alert level and decreasing.

Navolau stations was 9.59m at 4am which is 1.59m above warning level and increasing.

A heavy rain warning and flood alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain has been located west of Fiji and is expected to lie over the group later today.

The next high tide is schedule for 5.44pm.

A heavy rain warning is still in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and the Lau Group.

Tropical depression 04f was located at about 360km South of Suva at 11am.

The Nadi Meteorology Office says periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and the Lau Group is expected which will gradually ease to occasional rain with isolated heavy falls from later today.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flooding in this areas.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of the Fiji Group.

The Nadi Weather Office confirms Tropical Depression 02F was located about 330 kilometres Southwest of Rotuma – or 400 kilometres Northwest of Nadi at 9am today.

It’s anticipated to gradually move Southwest and associated rain bands will affect Fiji until Sunday.

The forecast is for heavy rain and thunderstorms over the whole of Fiji.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Fiji.

Tropical Depression TD02F was located about 220km southwest of Rotuma or 460km north-northwest of Nadi at 6am.

It is anticipated to gradually move southwest.

However the associated cloud bands are expected to affect Fiji until Sunday.

The people have been urged to continuously adhere to the weather updates as the tropical depression slowly affects the eastern division.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for the eastern half of Vanua Levu, Taveuni nearby smaller islands and the Lau group.

However the warning has been cancelled for eastern Viti Levu, Lomaiviti group and the rest of Vanua Levu.

The Nadi Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

It is expected to affect the group until later tomorrow.
