Heavy rain continues across the country

A flood warning remains in force for most areas of the Central and Eastern Division.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

These areas include:

Low lying areas downstream of Nayavu Station and low lying areas adjacent to the downstream of wainibuka River,

Low lying areas downstream of Navolau Station, Waimanu station, low lying areas and areas adjacent to Rakiraki Town, Nairukuruku Station and areas adjacent to the downstream of Wainimala River.

A flood alert remains in force for the low lying areas downstream of Nabukaluka Station,areas adjacent to the downstream of Waidina River and low lying areas downstream of Sabata Station

River level at 5am this morning shows that some rivers are above warning level.

NAVOLAU STATION: 9.2M WHICH IS 1.2M ABOVE WARNING LEVEL

WAIMANU STATION: MANUAL OBSERVATION (River has burst it’s bank)

NAIRUKURUKU STATION: 5.4M WHICH IS 0.4 ABOVE WARNING LEVEL

NABUKALUKA STATION: 4.3 WHICH IS 0.3M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL

SABATA STATION: 7.1M WHICH IS 2.1M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL

RAKIRAKI STATION: 1.3M WHICH IS 0.7M BELOW WARNING LEVEL

Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning remains in force for eastern half of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, Lomaiviti Group, Northern Lau group, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.
