The trial date of former Fiji National University Vice Chancellor Dr Ganesh Chand has been set for 16th to the 27th July 2018.
The matter was called for mention today to check on Prosecution’s reply to two letters served by the Defense Counsel.
Prosecution informed the Court it had replied to both the letters of the Defense.
The Defense Counsel acknowledged receiving the response and informed the Court it will request the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption for further additional documents.
The Prosecution did not have any objections and stated it will provide the additional documents accordingly.
The Matter has been adjourned to November 6th to check on Prosecution serving the additional documents as requested by Defense.
Chand who is charged with one count of abuse of office by FICAC made an executive decision as vice chancellor of FNU to allow and process the former Education Minister Filipe Bole’s claim for overseas medical treatment.
