Former MP Singh warned to never re-offend

Former Government MP Balmindar Singh was warned by the Suva Magistrates court today to never re-offend again following the dismissal of his charges.

Singh was charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

It’s alleged that Singh assaulted twenty-nine-year Alfred Sharif at a night club in December last year.

Singh threw five punches on Sharif’s face and two on his back causing injuries.

In court today, the two parties decided to reconcile and Singh was ordered to pay a sum of $1,500 to Sharif.

The Magistrate said he was satisfied and allowed the parties to reconcile.

Sharif asked Singh to not interfere in his life again and apologies for causing him injuries.

Singh was ordered by the court to apologies and never to harass Sharif again.
