FNPF pays out $135m to members

*The Fiji National Provident Fund has announced an interest of 5 per cent to be paid out to members for the year ending June 2012 amounting to $135 million.

The interest will be credited to members’ accounts tomorrow.

While announcing the payout, Acting Chief Executive, Jaoji Koroi also revealed that over $126 million have been paid out to pensioners who opted for lump sum.

The Board has also approved the Special Death Benefit cover to be retained at $8,500 with premium fixed at $35.

Koroi also highlighted that while there are some pensioners who have yet to complete the validation process, 68 per cent of pensioners have opted to join the new scheme.
