Fiji's Dubai jinx continue

December 1, 2012 7:08 am

Fiji has only themselves to blame after losing 8-5 to France in the Cup quarter final of the Dubai Sevens.

Fiji again allowing unforced errors to creep in, turned over possession to the French.

It was France who opened the scoring with a try in the first half.

Fiji bounced back with a try in the corner and could have gone ahead but blind passing and playing without a game plan saw France take advantage.

A high tackle during a line-out presented France with a penalty and just 30 metres out, the French opted to kick for goal.

Fiji then regained possession from the kick-off and again uncoordinated playing saw them going back and finally being driven into touch.

FBC commentator Graham Eden said there was a need to put some sense into the Fiji side.

Fiji can still save some face by winning the Plate competition but then again they will be up against some strong opposition.
