FCCC puts hoarders on notice

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission is calling on Fijians to come forward with information if traders are hoarding petroleum or LPG products from sale.

While conducting its market surveillance, the Commission has noted that some retailers and traders claimed that gas cylinders and kerosene were out of stock.

The surveillance was conducted after the new prices for petroleum and LPG products were announced on Saturday.

Chief executive Joel Abraham says the public should approach their offices in the central / eastern, western and northern divisions with their grievances.

Abraham says strict action will be taken against traders who have been found in contravention of the FCCC Act 2010.
