The Fijian Competition and the Consumer Commission is in the final stages of assessing the proposed increase in electricity tariff rate.

Energy Fiji Limited is proposing an increase in the electricity tariff rates by 17.27 percent.

Acting Chief Executive Senikavika Jiuta says the report will be finalized by the end of next month.

“There is a mixed response from the members of the public and also from stakeholders so we have actually noted that and that will be part of our report when we finalize our assessment.”

FCCC had called for public submissions in May to assess the justification for any increase.
