Fiji Broadcasting Corporation kick started the spirit of Diwali festivity distributing sweets along the Suva-Nausori corridor, Nadi and Labasa today.
Television, radio personalities and staff of the broadcasting house greeted morning commuters with boxes of sweets symbolising a close and sweet relationship with their listeners and viewers.
FBC events Coordinator, Gabrielle Rigamoto says many appreciated the effort adding it’s an example of unity and respect for other religious festivals.
“For every festival that we have, we’ve always done distribution of sweets as a way of expressing our gratitude to the whole of Fiji for supporting us. So this a way of returning the favour to them.”
Rigamoto says they distributed more than three thousand packs of sweets this morning which was well received by members of the travelling public and by passers.
