Customers to be cautious of an online trader

The Consumer Council is urging customers to be cautious of online trader, Elegant Wear as the Council received 13 complaints against them which was worth $26,590.

Elegant Wear is a company which markets its products via social networking site Facebook and sells ethnic Indian wear and bridal fashion accessories.

Council Chief Executive, Premila Kumar says Elegant Wear’s Lautoka office has closed but orders continue to be taken via their Facebook page with customers using wire transfer services to make their purchases.

The complainants are mostly brides, who were left inconvenienced at the inability of the trader to supply the product on time.

Elegant Wear has failed to provide timely response and redress to consumers even though customers paid full amounts and upfront deposits from the outset.
