Awareness on climate change is essential especially now as many Pacific Island Countries are affected directly by it.
To bring this issue to light, the Roman Catholic Church of Fiji launched their first climate change song: Climate Change Victims Lament at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Crypt in Suva.
The three verse song was created by the Head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong.
“The voice of the Island Nation in its purity has not yet reached the world and to disturb the world and to interrupt the world, to tell them what the actual experience of Island nations are going through.”
Archbishop Chong says the composition will be recorded and put on youtube and other social network forums to raise awareness on the issue.
He says this month, all Archbishops will focus on the creation and how it can be conserved through their sermons.
