Twenty-two homes in Vuadomo village, Savusavu have been using clean and safe drinking water for two months now.
This follows the completion of the Vuadomo Rural Water project, costing around $146,000.
The existing water system for the village was constructed in 1970 with only three stand pipes shared by the villagers since.
The project has seen the construction of 22 concrete slab bathrooms along with the pipes and water for the homes.
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama pleaded with the villagers to take proper care of the infrastructure.
He encouraged the community to develop a proper maintenance program so the investment in water is sustainable and lasting.
