A businessman who wants to travel to Canada to attend a meeting next month has requested for the release of his passport in court.

Jagath Karuna-rat-ne appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili and was advised to make a formal application for the release of his passport.

Karuna-rat-ne is facing charges of seditious offences with four others including SODELPA MP, Mosese Bulitavo, Eroni Takape, Waisale Daganayasi and Usaia Koroi.

The case will be recalled on the 6th of next month.
