Bus driver to take plea for allegedly hitting a woman

A forty-six-year old bus driver of Nausori who allegedly hit a fifty-seven-year old woman at Rodwell Road, in Suva in December, last year appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Rakesh Mani is charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death.

The woman was crossing from the Bailey Clinic towards Bali Hai nightclub when she was hit by the bus.

She was rushed to the CWM Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Mani who is on bail will take his plea on the17th of April.
