Building designers play a crucial role in laying the foundation of any infrastructure – hence, it’s paramount they receive the required assistance from Government in furthering their scope.
Fiji Building Designers Association President Shailendra Mudliar, says the association is challenged with many barriers from authorities.
“Challenges we have at the moment is to enrol the members and creating awareness on the association like reaching to all people who are practising design.”
Mudiliar says this prompted its members to join forces and improve the outcomes.
“This two groups merged together in December 2016 and had a meeting in Yatulau building where it was decided to form an association which would look after the interest of designers and technicians in the building industry.”
