Ban on corned beef recalled

July 8, 2016 6:21 am

Samoan Talamua media has today retracted a story it published on its website yesterday titled “Health Bans Farmers Style Corned Beef amidst allegations of dog and cat meat.”

It has apologized unreservedly to the manufacturers Foods Pacific Limited and local distributor Frankies Company Limited for any harm it may have impacted on the brand, the product and the distributor.

A meeting was held today between Foods Pacific Limited Sales and Marketing Manager Mohit Shrrivastav, the local company manager and Talamua Editor.

Talamua says the news outlet realizes it has been misinformed and retracts the story.

Mohit Shrrivastav says the company respects the policies of the Government of Samoa and it is why he had to go to Samoa to discuss the matter with the Ministry of Health.

Foods Pacific Limited has supplied the Samoan market with the popular corned beef brand for more than 20 years and is distributed locally by Frankies Company Limited.
