Authorities work to open roads

*Both Kings and Queens Roads have been cleared and all major highways are now open to traffic. *

“The Nadarivatu Road was cleared and open to travellers this morning. Most of Valley Road have been cleared. In Nadroga the roads from Koroisagauna to Keivasi along with the Nalebaleba crossing is still closed to traffic as authorities have to clear the debris from the landslides which had occurred earlier. In Nadi The Tunalia road along with the Arolevu flats, Nasesevia roads, Keloaia roads and Momi Nabila roads are partially opened to traffic as authorities continue with the restoration works. In Lautoka, the Saru road and Navula road is open to heavy traffic and 4×4s as it is still partially flooded. The Buabua road, Paipai road and Drasa dam road is closed to all traffic. The Qalitu road is now open to all traffic despite being under 1m of water and motorists are being urged to proceed with care.In Ba, a temporary railway bridge is open and is open to light traffic only while the Vutuni road, Marinitawa, Balevuto, Maurru, Bariban, Navala crossing and Toge road is still closed as authorities wait for the flood waters to recede before authorities can carry out restoration works. In Tavua the Qalela Loop road, Matacawa and Lubulubu road is partially opened as authorities work to clear the debris. In Rakiraki, the Burelevu road and crossing is still flooded and closed to all traffic.”
