Fiji Times’ Publisher Hank Arts bail variation application has been dismissed by the Suva High Court.
Hank Arts who is charged with one count of sedition appeared before Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe this morning.
Hank Arts intended to travel to Honolulu, Hawai’i from the 6th to the 17th of this month to celebrate his 28th wedding anniversary.
Despite the defense lawyer informing the court that his client has adhered to all his bail conditions, Justice Rajasinghe dismissed the bail application by saying that the purpose of the travel is not imperative.
The Judge further said that Arts still has the liberty for a vacation in Fiji.
Arts, in his capacity as the Publisher is alleged to have published a statement that is likely to incite dislike, hatred, or antagonism of the Muslim community.
