AG encourages Korovuto College students

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today encouraged and stressed the importance of education to students of Korovuto College in Nadi.

Speaking during the Annual Prize Giving Day, Sayed-Khaiyum reminded the students that it was important to be involved in extra school curricular activities, interact with other students and listen to their teachers.

Sayed-Khaiyum says that he was also pleased to note that a number of girls at the school topped their classes.

“This was a quick glance and I saw that all the people who have come first from Year 9 to Year 13 all of them are females except for 1 male. A few years ago in Fiji a very few women went to school only a few decades ago.”

He says this was the main reason why the government is investing in education.

Sayed-Khaiyum also says students need to come up with new ideas that could be beneficially to the country.

Parents, relatives and friends also gathered today at the school to witness the ceremony.
