The vehicle was driven by the victim’s 37-year-old son who was accompanied by his 35-year-old wife and their 8-month-old daughter.

The family was traveling from Savusavu heading to Bua to spend the weekend when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle at a bend on a hill, causing it to veer off to the right side of the road before hitting a rock causing the vehicle to tumble upside down.

The driver and his family are admitted at the Savusavu Hospital as investigations continue.

The road death toll for this year currently stands at thirty-one.
