58 women defy odds to graduate

Fifty-eight underprivileged women will now be able to earn a living for themselves after graduating from the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Center in Nasinu.

These women graduated in cooking, pastry, sewing and hydroponic.

Fiji Muslim League President Hafiz Khan, says since its establishment in 2015, more than nine hundred women have graduated from the training center.

“930 women have graduated as of today. And that is quite a milestone. Our target is eventually we hope to do 500 a year but that is a very big target but we moving towards that slowly.”

The center also has accommodation facilities.
