A steel factory valued at $22 million is expected to be commissioned soon.

Belonging to MR Dayal Group of Ba, Dayal’s Steels Limited is the largest steel rolling mill in Fiji and the Pacific islands with a production output capacity of over 150,000 tonnes per year.

The steel mill will be in full production next year and will be commissioned at Yalalevu, Ba.

Director Dayal Steel Jay Dayal says they embark on this substantial investment given the growing investor confidence, construction industry growth and the positive investment climate offered by Government.

Dayal says the mill will create 150 new jobs, new skill set, introduce modern technology, create export market opportunities for Fiji and drive competition.

So far $3.5 million has been committed in the project and preliminary civil works should be completed within two months.
