A 56-year-old man from Vunisea Village in Rakiraki has died following a road accident.

The victim was driving a cane truck along the Nayaulevu Road in Barotu, Rakiraki when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle.

As a result, it veered off the road.

The victim died at the scene.

The road death toll now stands at 33 compared to 46 for the same period last year.
