At least 11 bridges are currently being reviewed by the Fiji Roads Authority in the Western Division.

FRA CEO Jonathan Moore says these are high priority bridges that run from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

He says overall they are inspecting 30 bridges around the country.

“Now not all those bridges need to be replaced some need repairs and refurbishment that also determines how long it would take to replace it.”

According to Moore, they will also be looking at redesigning the material used for the construction of bridges and opting for a module of steel bridges rather than the concrete.
