The installation of CCTV cameras around the city of Suva is one of the major projects of the Suva Retailers Association this year.

Association President, Vinay Kumar says this project will ensure the safety of retailers and consumers during and after business hours.

“We will be having a 24-hour monitoring centre so that basically makes the city safer. This is not just a normal CCTV TV project, it’s an extensive CCTV project which is monitored 24-hours at Totogo Police Station that is one of the project we want to get off ground this year and make sure that it’s done.”

Kumar says they’re working closely with relevant stakeholders to complete the project this year.

The installation of CCTV cameras is a joint project between the Police Force, the Suva City Council and Suva Retailers Association.
