Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo

China believes tourism is a major sector in the Pacific and Fiji is a key player.

Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo says they want to assist countries in the region to develop their tourism industry.

Bo says this can be done through mutual understanding and friendship.

“Our believe is that in order to strengthen relations between the two countries bilaterally – the most important thing perhaps in a final analysis is the people to people contact. And South Pacific countries have the advantage of developing tourism”.

The Ambassador reveals that an increase of ten million people in China are moving across the board annually.

He adds that the purpose of encouraging tourism in the region is to allow Chinese tourists to help develop and support the Pacific markets.
