One of the major issues faced by the businesses in Suva is traffic congestion and parking.

Suva Retailers Association President Vinay Kumar says this is a result of the road works carried out by FRA during the day-time.

“One of the biggest problem that all the tellers are facing is traffic and parking. We want to increase parking in town and we want to work and we need to work with stake holders especially FRA and relevant departments.”

He says this has resulted in a drop in the business as well.

The Fiji Roads Authority has clarified that this is part of the on-going road reconstruction works for Suva CBD under the FRA’s 2018/2019 Road Renewals program.
