The Vodafone Flying Fijians team has been told what is expected of them at next month’s Rugby World Cup in England.
Prime Minister and President of Fiji Rugby Union Voreqe Bainimarama told the team at the sendoff reception last night that the country wants the Web Ellis trophy when the side returns.
Bainimarama hosted the side to a farewell dinner, where business houses and individuals were also able to contribute towards the team.
“We expect you to show the World what Fiji can do. We expect you to win. Not only in every game we play but the World Cup itself. We expect you to win.”
The team flies out on Monday for England.
Fiji plays the hosts on September 19th at 7am in its opening World Cup match.
