Good weather and optimum ground conditions have been attributed for the tough competition at the Fiji Secondary Schools IDC at Govind Park.
Secretary Vimlesh Prasad says the last eight for the quarter-finals will be decided only after all pool matches are finished.
He says apart from district rep laced Ba Sangam, no other team has taken an outright lead in pool play.
“The competition is tough as the grounds are in very good conditions. Compared to when we had the tournament in Nausori last year. All four grounds are very good and right now we can’t say who will progress to the next round.”
Ba Sangam topped pool four with nine points.
Labasa Sangam remains top bet in pool one with Cuvu College impressing in pool two.
Pool three is very much open with Tavua College, Central College and SSKMC Nadi gunning for the two qualifying spots.
The games continue at Govind Park with all pool matches to be decided by the end of the day.
The under-19s took a break to allow the under 17 games and will resume after lunch.
