PM invites Australian businesses to invest in Fiji

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has invited business leaders in Victoria, Australia to seize opportunities available in Fiji.

Speaking at a business luncheon with the Victorian Business community yesterday, Bainimarama highlighted where Fiji stands today and where the nation is headed.

He says Fiji today is the strongest, most prosperous, more innovative and the most united it has ever been.

He adds Fiji’s the hub of the Pacific, the hub of trade, business and development.

The Prime Minister highlighted Fiji’s successful economic growth poised to grow for the ninth consecutive year with projections to grow in the next two years – a record 11 years of economic growth.

Bainimarama reiterated infrastructure investment that the government has invested more than doubled the amount of all previous governments.

He also brought to light the civil service reform and free education offered in the country which is a huge achievement encouraging business leaders in Victoria to take part in the developments taking place in Fiji.

Bainimarama says Fiji and Australian businesses have been working closely together with goods and services between the two countries reaching 2.13 billion dollars last year.

Australian investment in Fiji rose to $1.33 billion dollars; mostly in tourism, financial sector and manufacturing.
