The National Kidney Research and Treatment Centre and satellite units are expected to be ready within the next three months.
The centre which is aimed at becoming the hub for kidney health services will be led by Specialist Nephrologist, Dr Amrish Krishnan.
Dr Krishnan says the centre’s first satellite unit is being established at the Nadi Hospital complex and will be equipped to provide dialysis services as well.

He adds centre will also coordinate important research activities and data collection on various subjects ranging from the number of deaths that occurs due to kidney failure.
The Specialist highlights centre will support its associated units in the West Division and in Labasa through monthly outreach programs.
