The second accused Ethan Kai has made his application for bail and a ruling on this will be made on June 19th.

The court today heard oral submissions on the application by Kai’s lawyer Aman Ravindra-Singh for a separate trial after the matter was consolidated earlier this year.

Justice Rajasinghe will make his ruling June 19th.

The state wants both the accused to be put on trial together.

Khan and Kai are charged for allegedly importing one of the largest shipments of heroin last December which authorities discovered at Lautoka Wharf.
