Iosefo to debut for Suva

Former Rewa striker Iosefo Verevou is looking forward to making his debut for Suva in the Vodafone Premier League match against Ba on Sunday.

Verevou and his brother Epeli Saukuru were cleared to join Suva on Tuesday and have been part of the capital city’s training sessions.

The 23-year-old former national team player says he needs to lift up his performance in order to make the cut into the starting line-up.

“For me, first of all, it’s a new team for me and based on my performance I have to do much better and try and help Suva and its fans win games.”

Verevou made his debut in football at the age of 15 and since then has played for the Delta Tigers until switching the district in the transfer window last month.

He has played for Fiji Under-17, 20 and 23 teams and has scored 13 goals altogether for the age grade sides.

Meanwhile, in a doubleheader at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, Labasa plays Nasinu at 1pm and Suva faces Ba at 3pm.

At Garvey Park at the same time, Tavua hosts Rewa at 3pm.
