October 29, 2012 3:59 am

The Fiji National Rugby League is starting their off-season training today as they gear towards better performance for next year’s outing.

FNRL development officer Sale Tubuna says this is in line with preparations for the game against Newcastle Knights next year and the World Cup.

”This is mainly to prepare the boys for the new season especially for the Newcastle game in February. That’s the main reason we’re getting the squad back that’s both for the Eastern and Western squad today. It will be a two months training before we select the Fiji Residence to play Newcastle next year.”

He adds the turnout was around 50-60% because some had work commitments but they are aiming to get 100% attendance by the end of the week.

Fiji will host the Newcastle Knights on the 2nd of February next year.
