Flying Fijians to work on combinations

July 19, 2015 1:17 am

The Vodafone Flying Fijians still needs to work on it’s combinations within the team ahead of the Rugby World Cup in September.

Coach John McKee says he was impressed with the halves pair of Henry Seniloli and Ben Volavola in yesterday’s 30-22 win over Tonga in the Pacific Nation’s Cup, but improvements can be done.

“It was really hard at the back of the scrum. It was also quite messy at the back of the rucks, they (Tongans) were really contesting hard so it was hard for the half back to get clean balls and made the clearance difficult. I think Ben did some very good things in the game and other times he was under pressure. Ben showed plenty of good things today. We just got to get out combinations a little bit better and things will start to click for us.”
