A new champion will be crowned at the Marist 7s

A new champion will be crowned in the 43rd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s underway at ANZ Stadium in Suva.

This is after Police Blue defeated defending champions Tabadamu Blue in the third cup Quarterfinal 15-0.

Police dominated in the first half scoring two tries to lead 10-nil at the breather.

The Police Blue scored another try in the last minute of the second spell to seal the win.

Meli Kurisaru scored two tries while Watisoni Sevutia scored one try.

Meanwhile, in the first cup quarterfinal, Uluinakau beat Waidigi Salvo 17-7 while Wardens Gold defeated Police White 13-5.

In the last quarterfinal Ratu Filise beat Russia Red 31-10.

Wardens Gold plays Uluinakau Babas in the first semi-final at 4.30pm while Police Blue will battle Ratu Filise in the second semifinal at 4.48pm.

The winner of the main competition walks away with $11,000 while the runners up wins $5,000.
