7s team returns home after first leg

Vodafone Fiji 7s team has arrived home after taking part in the Dubai and Cape Town tournaments in the first leg of the Sevens World Series.

The side will receive 15 thousand dollars after reaching the final in Dubai two weeks ago.

The bonus given today will be divided amongst the players and the officials.

Meanwhile, interim coach Nacanieli Cawanibuka’s term as coach comes to an end and Gareth Baber takes in-charge of the team from next month.

Cawanibuka will be back as the trainer of the team.

The extended squad is expected to march into camp after the new-year to prepare for the Wellington and Sydney 7s.

Fiji is pooled with South Africa, Australia and Japan in the Wellington 7s.
