14 Fijians feature in Top 14 opening round

A total of fourteen Fijian rugby players were part of the opening round of the Top 14 club competitions in France last night.

In the first round of competitions Stade Francais thrashed Perpignan 41-15, Bordeaux-Begles walloped Pau 41-19, and Clermont crushed Agen 67-23.

Clermont had four Fijians in its starting line up with Setareki Tuicuvu at fullback Alivereti Raka at wing Apisai Naqalevu at inside centre and Peceli Yato at Flanker.

La Rochelle beat Grenoble 28-21 while Lyon and Toulouse drew 16 all and Racing 92 edged Toulon 25-9.

Bothers Filipo Nakosi and Josua Tuisova started on the wing and centre respectively while Joe Rokocoko and Virimi Vakatawa started on the same positions for Racing 92.

Waisea Nayacalevu and Apisai Naqalevu scored a try each in for their teams last night while Alivereti Raka crossed for a double in the opening round.
