We have to start from scratch: PM

The devastation caused by Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston has also cost the steady growing Fijian economy.

Speaking exclusively to FBC News – Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, says we will now have to start from scratch.

Bainimarama says the investment of the last thirty to forty years was ravaged within twenty-four to forty-eight hours.

‘’Well as I also mentioned in the last couple of weeks, I have been going around and telling everyone how and what our economy is doing and how bright and cheerful Fiji has been for Fiji but everything went to zero in the last couple of days. So we will have to start from scratch but we need the resilience and the character of the Fijians’’.

The Fijian economy forecast to grow by 3.5 percent this year.
