President Konrote commissioned as new Chief Scout

President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote says the development of youth is important for the future of our nation.

Major-General Konrote made the statement after being installed as the new Chief Scout of the Fiji Scouts Association.

He says Scouts is an association that helps promote discipline, confidence and team work.

“As a chief Scout I, would like to urge more of our young people to join the scouts in our school and in this regard, I would like to appeal and seek assistance of our Honorable Minister of Education, Youth and Sports in promoting and supporting the scout movement in our school and within the community.”

Konrote says developing future responsible citizens also begins from homes and communities.

Scout representatives from around the country were present at the State House today to witness the commissioning of their new Chief Scout.
