Police await word from Elections Office

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says they are waiting for the Elections Office to finalise the number of polling stations before they can confirm their number of officers.

Turdavu says Police Commissioner Major General Bernadus Groenevald has been briefed about the election plans.

“Our preparationa are well according to the time lines that we have set out. This is in conjunction with the preparation by the Supervisor of Election and his team. I can state that we have gone past our preliminary preparation and the second phase of just consolidating our resources and then the training of the personnel.”

Tudravu has confirmed that all annual leave will be suspended from next month until after the September 17 election.
