One hundred new staff for national carrier

Fiji Airways will be adding one hundred staff between cabin crew and pilots with the addition of their new airbus A330-300 aircraft which arrives next week.

The new aircraft will be the fourth airbus for Fiji Airways.

Company chief executive Andre Viljoena says the new aircraft will require 46 odd pilots and more cabin crew.

“The training for the cabin crew is done in-house but the pilot conversion training is used through airbus simulators and we used these in Singapore and also in Australia to do it.”

Viljoena says the company’s five-year master plan will also see a new Boeing 737 which will service short haul routes in 2017.

The CEO says going forward the company is committed in partnership with government to keep growing their ability to provide the connectivity for tourism and economic growth of Fiji.
