NFA plans to construct barracks at Savusavu station

July 25, 2018 5:04 am

The National Fire Authority plans to construct barracks for their officers at the Savusavu station.

Chief Executive Manasa Lesuma says this will help their officers who travel long distance to work to be available for their shifts.

“The piece of land to accommodate that is quite big, so those are some of the future plans we have for the barracks.”

Lesuma says their officers at the Savusavu station faces many challenges, one being working without an ambulance.

He says that should be eased now after the NFA received an ambulance donated by the Chinese government today.

Lesuma adds these will help their officers transfer people from their homes to the hospital if they are sick and attend to road accidents.
