A man who has been charged with two counts of possession of illicit drugs has sought bail from the Suva Magistrates Court to bury his mother who died while he was in custody.

The Magistrate in the case has granted Mohammed Irfan Khan bail in the sum of $2, 000 with two sureties who have each signed a surety bond in the same amount.

It is alleged that Khan was found in possession of 1.1 grams of marijuana and 0.06 grams of methamphetamine on the 21^st of December last year in Samabula.

The matter will be recalled on March 27^th.
