The Land Transport Authority is reminding ineligible recipients to surrender their provisional taxi permits before next Tuesday.

Board Chair Vijay Maharaj says those who fail to submit their approval letter before the 21-day grace period will be taken to task.

Maharaj says those drivers who provided false declarations can be prosecuted under the Crimes Act 2009.

Maharaj says a re-draw will take place following the closure of the grace period whereby, the permits will be made available based on the quota within each transport zone.

He adds the re-draw will give honest Fijians who missed out in the first barrel draw, the opportunity to have taxi permits.
