A former senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs official has been charged for her alleged involvement in a travel scam.

The accused has been charged with one count of abuse of office and 3 counts of providing False Travel Documents

The woman who is in her late 30s is alleged to have provided false travel documents whilst being a holder of a senior position for three individuals with intention to obtain a benefit.

The alleged incident occurred between February to April this year.

She will be appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
